Dress and Balance Machinist
2nd or 3rd shift
Scranton, Pa
Principal Accountabilities:
Employee is required to dress, over-file or under-file impeller vanes when required, put rings onto impeller and turn these rings when required, and either static balance or dynamic balance impellers. At times, employee will also be required to dress miscellaneous castings before shipment. Employee must learn to use hand held air grinders to do the work specified above as well as learn to use the static and dynamic balancing machines. When turning impeller rings, employee must learn to use micrometers for measurement. Use of safety equipment while doing this type of work is a must. Hearing testing and pulmonary or respiratory testing is a yearly requirement. Employee will be required to work overtime when necessary.
Qualifications:
Employee must be results oriented individual with a minimum of either a high school diploma or GED certificate. Degree from a trade school with at least 3 years of machining experience is preferred. Experience in the operation of grinding / balancing equipment is preferred.
