PDS Tech is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer I for our client in Wilkes Barre:The Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling Engineer) is responsible to support manufacturing activities associated with the production and shipment of primarily LNG Coil Wound Heat Exchangers and other miscellaneous equipment at the Plant and related facilities. Specifically, the support activities expected of this position center on specifying, designing, installing, and overseeing the utilization of the custom tools, jigs, and fixtures necessary to build and transport the large LNG CWHE's. This includes managing schedules and budgets that meet requirements of the project and plant.NATURE and SCOPEThis position reports to the Maintenance Manager. The Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling Engineer) is responsible for the designing and specifying all custom tooling required to fabricate the large equipment manufactured at the Wilkes-Barre Plant and related facilities. The Tooling Engineer is also responsible for installation and commissioning these custom tools, jigs, and fixtures. He/she must work closely with all departments at the Plant and the Mechanical Design Engineering teams located in corporate/regional headquarters. The incumbent must have the engineering skills and ability to creatively solve tooling issues associated with fabricating very large engineer-to-order equipment. He/she must have operator handling and operational-safety in the forefront of all the tools and processes designed.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Specify and/or design special tools, fixtures and fabricating equipment required to manufacture largemiscellaneous equipment.2. Ensure all tooling and related work processes are safe for the intended use/application.3. Manage the tooling activities and budgets associated with each manufacturing project. This includes performing project budget forecasting, issuing production orders, controlling spending within budget, and insuring activities happen according to schedule.4. Develop work instructions and training information for any new tooling or processes introduced to the production area. This includes insuring all safety requirements are met.5. Work with other applicable engineering functions prior to release of designs and throughout the manufacturing process to improve overall efficiencies and insure manufacturability of the equipment design.6. Support the Plant Maintenance and Special Projects with building/facility projects as needed.
